DETROIT – A Detroit man accused of abandoning his 1-year-old son in his car has pleaded guilty.
Orlander Murnell Linson, Jr., 35, was charged with second-degree child abuse and leaving a child in a car, resulting in physical harm.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Linson abandoned his car in front of a home in the 20600 block of Damman Street on Feb. 27 at around 3:30 a.m. When police arrived for a report of an abandoned car, officers didn’t see anyone inside, and they impounded it.
On Feb. 28, the child’s mother reported the baby missing to the Detroit Police Department. Police went to an impound lot in the 22700 block of Lexington Street in Eastpointe, where the baby was found inside the car. The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

On Sept. 25, Linson pleaded guilty to fourth-degree child abuse and leaving a child in a car resulting in physical harm. He is expected to be sentenced on Oct. 5.
