Metro Detroit residents, political leaders mark 1 year since insurrection at US Capitol

Vigil held in Rochester Hills

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – In Metro Detroit people took the time to reflect on the events of Jan. 6, 2021 -- when insurrectionists stormed the Capitol building.

A vigil was held in Rochester Hills to remember what happened that day and work to expand voting rights around the nation.

Metro Detroit’s representatives in Congress took to the Senate floor to share their thoughts on that day.
