Dearborn Heights boxer Husam Al Mashhadi is looking to take another step forward in his professional career when he returns to Detroit’s historic Fox Theatre on Aug. 29.
Al Mashhadi (15-0, 12KOs) will face Atlanta’s Seantorious Martin (12-1, 7KOs) in an eight-round welterweight bout.

The 26-year-old southpaw has developed a reputation for an entertaining style built around fast hands and punching power.
Fighting out of Hype Athletics in Dearborn Heights, Al Mashhadi says he was inspired by former featherweight world champion Prince Naseem Hamed, who was a major attraction with his flashy ring entrances, unique style and knockout power.
“Growing up, it was Prince for sure,” said Al Mashhadi. “Being a young kid from the Middle East and just looking up to him and all his accomplishments, and I’m looking to do it as well.
The charisma and desire to put on a show has been part of Al Mashhadi’s style since he was a child.
“Flashiness, that’s just something I’ve always had as a young kid. I’ve always wanted to go out there and show people that I’m flashy and I’m fun.”
Al Mashhadi shares some former champion’s flair and power, with 12 of his 15 wins coming by knockout.
On paper, his opponent could provide one of the toughest tests of his career but Al Mashhadi is determined to display the same dominance he usually does.
“I’m going to go out there and handle business the same way I always do,” Al Mashhadi said. “His record is good on paper. We’ll see how he can take it, because I’m coming to dish it to him for sure.”
The Aug. 29 card begins at 7 p.m. and will stream live on Wynn Records Network. The event is promoted by Salita Promotions in association with G2G Promotions and Wynn Records.
The card also features the Detroit debuts of undefeated prospects Julius “JuJu” Ballo and Jonny Mansour, along with a heavyweight matchup between contender Brandon Moore and former world title challenger Bryant Jennings.
