Southfield police respond to lawsuit blaming officers for miscarriage
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. Southfield police are responding to a lawsuit filed by a woman who said that police brutality caused her to lose her unborn baby. Video shows the chaotic between the woman and the officers who were responding to a complaint about her. According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 9 Crystal White, 38, of Southfield, was involved in a verbal altercation with her mother, sister and brother-in-law at her mothers residence. According to the lawsuit, White was pregnant at the time of the arrest and lost her unborn child. I dont believe that if this was in Bloomfield Hills a pregnant White woman would be Tased on a welfare check, Fieger said.
Lawsuit: Southfield police officers used excessive force during arrest causing death of unborn baby
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. โ A woman is suing the Southfield Police Department and three of its officers alleging that excessive force led her to lose her unborn baby. White gathered her belongings and began packing her car when three Southfield officers, Officer J. Woodside, Officer M. Fair and Officer A. Rucinski, arrived on scene and accused her of being armed, according to the lawsuit. White denied being armed and lifted her shirt to expose her waistline, according to the lawsuit. When Woodside stepped back, Fair deployed his Taser and struck White in the abdomen, according to the lawsuit. According to the lawsuit, Whiteโs baby died on Feb. 22.
