Ann Arbor pastry shop getting new name, refreshed menu
ANN ARBOR, MI -- An Ann Arbor pastry shop now has a refreshed menu and a new name after a change in concept. Although the façade sign is still on its way, The Great Commoner, 110 E. Washington St. in Ann Arbor, has been renamed Cannelle. The concept serves up a variety of coffees, sandwiches and French pastries.mlive.com

This breakfast bread has a warm, flaky, buttery texture, that eclipses all breakfast pastries. If you have ever tried making them you know there is an art to getting them right. Chef Matt Knio from Cannelle Patisserie joined Tati Amare via Skype to show how he gets his croissants perfect. Chef Matt would know, Cannelle offers a wide variety of croissants that range in flavor from sweet, like Tati’s favorite, the almond croissant, to savory, like their bacon cheese croissant. Owner and chef Matt Knio joined Tati Amare and Jason Carr to show off some of his delectable treats and demonstrate how he designs his popular Trio dessert. Chef Knio explained he and his staff make these magical creations at a warehouse in Warren for his patisseries in Birmingham and downtown Detroit.
