Harper might also miss Philadelphia's home game Tuesday night against San Diego. Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. has missed three straight games because of a sore groin and the team had him undergo an MRI, which was negative.news.yahoo.com

AP source: Lindor, Mets agree to $341 million, 10-year deal
The person spoke to The Associated Press on Wednesday night on condition of anonymity because the deal hadn't been announced. Lindor was eligible for free agency after this season and said this spring he wouldn't negotiate with the Mets on a long-term deal after opening day. New York added Lindor knowing he could walk after the 2021 season, but the team said it would try to negotiate a long-term pact. AdLindor's deal will be the largest ever for a shortstop, passing Fernando Tatis Jr.'s $340 million, 14-year contract with San Diego signed in February. Only Mike Trout's $426.5 million, 12-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels and Mookie Betts' $365 million, 12-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers are worth more.
Spring Training Report: Changing The Baseball Could Lead To Fewer Home Runs
This week’s Spring Training Report looks at the slight changes to the baseball that could affect the game, the mounting injuries across MLB and a rare triple play. But MLB also doesn’t want big variations in the home run rate from season to season, particularly when that rate spikes. (To put that in perspective, 2014 saw 4,186 home runs, for a rate of 0.86 home runs per team per game.) Even the shortened 2020 season saw at rate of 1.28, which also broke the previous record, albeit over fewer games. The League denied it, but admitted the previous season that some small changes to the ball had affected hitting.detroit.cbslocal.com

Darvish has twice finished runner-up for a Cy Young Award, including last season when he was 8-3 with a 2.01 ERA in 12 starts. Lester is a three-time World Series champion, winning twice with Boston and once with the Cubs. He’s part of a rotation led by three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer, 2019 World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg and lefty Patrick Corbin. Bradley was a Gold Glove winner in 2018 when the Red Sox won the World Series.

After years of tormenting Tigers, Francisco Lindor heads to NL
Francisco Lindor’s days of tormenting the Detroit Tigers are over, at least for now. The Cleveland Indians traded Lindor, a four-time All-star at shortstop, and Carlos Carrasco, a veteran pitcher, to the New York Mets for a package of prospects on Thursday. Carrasco was no pushover, either, going 12-9 with a 3.56 ERA in 31 games (25 starts) against the Tigers, striking out 147 in 149. Greene and Wolf won’t arrive in the big leagues for a couple years, but Gimenez, 22, and Rosario, 25, should be regulars in the lineup. Rosario is the brother-in-law of Tigers shortstop Willi Castro, who finished fourth in AL Rookie of the Year balloting in 2020.mlive.com
