Family and friends said their final goodbyes Thursday to the Northwestern High School student who suffered cardiac arrest during a basketball game.

Local 4 news has learned that the Northwestern High School senior who went into cardiac arrest during a basketball game has died.

Cartier Woods, 18, a Detroit Public Schools Community District student, has been in critical condition since the game Tuesday night.

Cartier Woods is on life support, and his family is asking for prayers after the Northwestern High School senior’s heart stopped on the basketball court during Tuesday night’s game against Douglass High School.

A Northwestern High School student went into cardiac arrest while playing in a basketball game Tuesday afternoon, according to the district.

DETROIT Police are searching for a missing 15-year-old named Cartier Woods who was last seen by his aunt around 1 p.m. on Thursday. According to a family member, Woods disappeared after walking away from his home in the 17300 block of Warrington in Detroit. Woods is described as 6 feet, around 140 to 160 pounds, has a light complexion, freckles on his face, brown eyes, and short brown hair.
