“Wakanda White”: Community invited to Black Panther sequel public viewing
SAGINAW, MI — A known collector of memorabilia centered on Black American experiences in Saginaw has organized a public viewing of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” at a local movie theater. Kevin Jones, founder of Blactiquing Saginaw, told The Saginaw News/MLive that he has partnered with a handful of donors to purchase 203 tickets to the 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, showing of the “Black Panther” sequel. He said after the passing of “Black Panther” lead actor Chadwick Boseman in 2020, many wondered about the future of his T’Challa character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the sequel partially focusing on the passing of the character, Jones said the experience can be one to be celebrated in the actor’s remembrance and a cultural experience for many of African descent. Anyone looking to attend the “Wakanda White” public viewing at 7:30 p.m. is recommended to arrive at the Quality 10 Powered by Emagine theater, 3250 Kabobel in Kochville Township, around 7 p.m. for photo opportunities and time to purchase refreshments as a way of supporting local business.
