Russian DJ Nina Kraviz will no longer perform at Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival next weekend, event organizers announced Thursday, two days after local Ukrainians issued a letter demanding the DJ to denounce Russian President Vladimir Putin.

New WMU men’s hoops coach Dwayne Stephens ‘an all-star’ hire, says former boss Tom Izzo

KALAMAZOO, MI – Dwayne Stephens paid his dues for nearly two decades on Michigan State’s bench alongside hall of fame men’s basketball coach Tom Izzo. Western Michigan announced the hire of Stephens as the Broncos’ new men’s basketball coach Monday afternoon, bringing an end to its month-long search following the resignation of former head coach Clayton Bates. “Dwayne has been more than ready to run his own program for a long time, and I think Western Michigan is getting an all-star. Dwayne is a terrific basketball coach and a great person, who will be a tremendous leader for their program and community. “I’ve spent nearly 20 years at Michigan State, working under a Hall of Fame Coach in Tom Izzo,” Stephens said.

GRiZ, a 26-year-old musician from Southfield, posted the blog in Huffington Post this week, coming out as gay for the first time. GRiZ talked about trying to fit in at school - he attended Groves High School and Michigan State University. Last month, we told you about his project to bring music back to Detroit Public Schools. GRiZ went to Birmingham Groves and started making music at Michigan State University.
