Metro Detroit weather: Wind Advisory no longer in effect as gusts have ramped down
As expected, the wind gusts have wound down Thursday (April 14) evening. In fact, as of 10 p.m., most reporting stations have gusts below 30 mph. Detroit City Airport is the one exception, with a 41-mph gust between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. Weโll have partly cloudy skies overnight with a few sprinkles or spotty showers in the area that most of us wonโt get and lows in the upper-30s to near 40 degrees (4 degrees Celsius).
Pilot was told not to fly plane in fatal 2018 Detroit crash, investigation reveals
DETROIT โ The National Transportation Safety Board released Sunday details of its investigation into a fatal 2018 plane crash. The initial investigation believed the plane may have been out of fuel and had a landing gear issue. The report released Sunday said the investigation into the aircraft revealed the fuel pump was intact and only showed damage from the crash. Young Municipal Airport, said the planeโs landing gear was not functioning properly and began circling the airport. The right main and nose landing gear were found fully extended by investigators.
