John Hinckley Jr., who attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan in 1981, is now playing sold-out concerts. WABC reports Hinckley is scheduled to perform July 8 at the Market Hotel in Brooklyn. Tickets were being sold for $20; the show is now sold out, according to the venue website. Hinckley was 25 when he shot and wounded the 40th U.S. president outside a Washington, D.C., hotel in an effort to reportedly impress actress Jodie Foster. He accused Devo of owing him royalties for the 1982 song “I Desire,” which used passages from a love poem Hinckley wrote to Foster.mlive.com

Presley's Graceland is preparing to host visitors and offer in-person events for Elvis Week from Aug. 11 through Aug. 17. The event will feature appearances by celebrities and musicians, live concerts, panel discussions, parties, bus excursions and the Elvis Presley tribute artist contest, officials with Elvis Presley Enterprises said. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Elvis Week events were mostly held online last year.

His big break came when Jennings recorded several of Shaver's songs for his 1973 album “Honky Tonk Heroes," which helped popularize the outlaw country genre and turn the maverick country artists into legends. "There weren’t another other way to be/For lovable losers, no account boozers/And honky tonk heroes like me," Shaver wrote in the title track. Shaver wrote songs that were covered by Elvis Presley, Patty Loveless, George Jones, Tex Ritter, Tennessee Ernie Ford and John Anderson.

One such theory originated in Kalamazoo , a city he performed in, in the months leading up to his death, in which a woman named Louise Welling claims she saw the King at a local supermarket scarfing down Whoppers at a Burger King sometime in 1988. Anyway, one thing is true of Elvis he lives on through Detroit's ultimate tribute group, Eastside Elvis and the Motor City Mafia . Barry Coe, 'Peyton Place' and 'Bonanza' actor, dead at 84

(CNN) - Golden Globe-winning actor Barry Coe, who had roles in "Bonanza" and films like 1957's "Petyon Place" and "Jaws 2," died last month after a battle with myelodysplastic syndrome, according to an obituary. Actor Ryan O'Neal would go on to play Coe's role from the film, a character named Rodney Harrigton, in the TV series. Three years later, Coe picked up a Golden Globe award for most promising male newcomer for his role in "A Private Affair." His other credits include roles in films like Elvis Presley's "Love Me Tender" and "One Foot in Hell" and a TV series called "Follow the Sun," which aired for one season.
