EMPTY THE SHELTERS

Adoption fees are being waived for nearly two weeks at Detroit Animal Care as part of an “Empty the Shelters” program.

Do you have room in your home and your heart for a new pet? The BISSELL Pet Foundation is hosting an emergency “Empty the Shelters” adoption event at Detroit Animal Care and Control.

Please join us for this special Local 4 event called “Empty The Shelters” all day Thursday.

Michigan State's Kenneth Walker III and Ohio State's C.J. Stroud are The Associated Press Big Ten co-offensive players of the year, and the Spartans' Mel Tucker edged out Michigan's Jim Harbaugh for coach of the year.

The initiative is a partnership with BISSELL Pet Foundation’s national “Empty the Shelters” program. Detroit Animal Care is one of 200 shelters in 40 states that will participate in the program.

With a few weeks left until Christmas, getting a tree may be tough to find.

This weekend, you can adopt a pet for just $25 at select shelters across Michigan. Pet lovers will have the opportunity to adopt a pet for $25 and BISSELL Pet Foundation will sponsor the remaining cost at 110 participating organizations in 20 states. You can find the full list of participating shelters here. Some locations will have puppies available, but you would need to contact them to find out.
