Pickup’s crash with garbage truck claims lives of twin 6-year-olds, their father in northern Bay County
PINCONNING TWP, MI — A two-vehicle crash in northern Bay County has claimed the lives of twin children and their father. Just before 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, Bay County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash scene on Huron Road (M-13) at the intersection with Whitefeather Road in Pinconning Township. They arrived to find a Republic Services garbage truck had been crashed into by a white 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck, said Sheriff Troy R. Cunningham. The garbage truck had been heading south on Huron Road and was stopped to make a left turn onto Whitefeather Road, bound for Whitefeather Development Landfill, Cunningham said. HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Wayne County mother was killed Friday morning during a domestic altercation between two parents and their son. According to authorities, the incident happened at two homes near the intersection of Judd and Gentz roads, just west of I-275 between Sibley and Huron roads. Police said the son, 25, arrived at his parent’s home that morning and attacked both of them -- one inside the home and the other across the street in the neighbor’s yard. This was a multi-weapon incident,” said Everett Robbins with the Huron Township Police Department. “At this point, we’re trying to sort out exactly where there injuries are.”Both victims were taken to local hospitals.
VIDEO: Police looking for driver in suspected vehicular assault in Pontiac
PONTIAC, Mich. Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck a woman Tuesday night in Pontiac. She was rushed to McLaren Oakland Hospital. The truck -- described as a full-size extended cab pickup truck -- fled westbound on W. Huron Road. Surveillance video of the truck can be seen in the video player above. The victim is listed in critical condition at McLaren Oakland with skull, rib, and leg fractures and may not survive.
