The Browns defeated theOver the weekend, the Lions made their final roster cuts to get to the NFL's mandated 53-man roster. As part of the process, some players were cut but added to the Lions' practice squad. Another surprising move here: the Lions traded for Blough after playing the Browns in the last preseason game. He suffered a concussion in the first preseason game, missed the next two games and didn't play well in the fourth preseason game, leading the Lions to cut him. Drafted in the seventh round of this year's draft, Nauta didn't do enough during the preseason to crack the roster.

CLEVELAND - Once Austin Seibert straightened himself out, the Browns' kicking competition got on target. The Browns (3-1) are hoping to contend for a playoff spot this season and need a dependable kicker. Coach Freddie Kitchens would not commit to Seibert as his starter, and downplayed his second straight strong performance. "He's supposed to perform," said Kitchens, who earlier in the week said he would give Joseph all the kicks. Browns third-string QB Garrett Gilbert threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to running back Dontrell Hilliard in the first half.
