The Boston Red Sox have reportedly agreed to a minor-league contract with former Detroit Tigers outfielder Christin Stewart. 34 overall selection in the 2015 MLB Draft played six seasons with the organization, including three as a major-league player from 2018-20. The Tigers did not resign the left-handed hitter prior to the offseason, making him a minor-league free agent. The organization demoted him to its Triple-A Toledo club in September of 2020, where he spent the entire 2021 season. He was not projected to make the Tigers’ 2020 Opening Day roster due to the organization’s depth at left field, which features Akil Baddoo, Robbie Grossman, Eric Haase, and Willi Castro.
