2 taken into custody after police pursuit through Detroit
DETROIT – Michigan State Police released footage of a Friday night police pursuit through the streets of Detroit. According to authorities, two people pointed weapons at a Detroit police officers and drove off in a Dodge Charger. Police said the pursuit began just after 10:30 p.m near the intersection of Evergreen Road and I-96. The pursuit ended when the Charger ran a stop sign near the intersection of Kentfield Street and I-96 and struck a DPD cruiser. MSP said the Dodge Charger was confirmed stolen and a stolen handgun was also recovered.
Michigan State Police hands out gift cards at Kroger in Commerce Township
COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Michigan State Police and Kroger teamed up on Wednesday to give shoppers a Christmas surprise of gift cards in Commerce Township. MSP launches Citizen Advisory Council website
DETROIT The Citizen Advisory Council has been created to give people a closer look at whats going on with the Michigan State Police department. One of the things that weve been working on our strategic plan was trying to be a little bit more transparent, said Lt. Mike Shaw. Lt. Shaw, with Michigan State Police, said the solution has been found with a brand new site on the world wide web. What were doing as far as our strength report and things like that -- all of our non-confidential policies and procedures are also on this website, added Lt. Shaw. The goal is to improve overall police relations, giving the people the power to hold MSP officers and the department accountable.
