More than 2,000 pounds of marijuana seized in Port Huron
PORT HURON, MI -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized more than one ton of marijuana in Port Huron this week. The 2,027 pounds of marijuana was found in the trailer of an inbound commercial shipment on Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron. The commercial shipment carrying foot items was bound for Columbus, Ohio and was referred for a secondary inspection, according a Friday, Jan. 21, news release sent by the agency. Officers found 15 wooden crates inside, all filled with marijuana. “Our officers continue to identify and target suspect shipments attempting to make entry into the United States,” said Port Director Michael Fox.
