Protest sparked by Oakland County school district’s effort to promote diversity, equality
Emotions ran high in Oakland county over the district’s efforts to promote diversity and equality. Results saw participants from the districts republican party stage a protest outside Tuesday (Jan. 11) night’s board meeting in Farmington over parts of ‘equity challenge.’
‘MAGA Classic Car Cruise’ takes spot of cancelled Woodward Dream Cruise
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – This year’s Woodward Dream Cruise was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Another event has popped up in its place -- the “MAGA Classic Car Cruise.” It was scheduled at the original date of the Dream Cruise. “Well, it’s not that we’re trying to take over the Dream Cruise and we understand why the Dream Cruise was shut down because of sponsorships and large gatherings,” said Rocky Raczkowski. Raczkowski, with the Oakland County Republican Party, said its their way to show support for local businesses and their part affiliation. “Support the local businesses, support police, fire and our EMT’s and also to support the administration,” Raczkowski said.

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – This year’s Woodward Dream Cruise was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Another event has popped up in its place -- the “MAGA Classic Car Cruise.” It’s scheduled for the same day and time, Aug. 15 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. along Woodward Avenue. Aug. 6, 2020 -- Michigan coronavirus (COVID-19) cases up to 85,429; Death toll now at 6,247The “MAGA Classic Car Cruise” is a pro-Donald Trump event. The event is being held by the Oakland County Republican Party. “Right now people are so down, all we see on the news is 140,000 dead and we need this,” he said.
