5 buildings damaged in Jackson fire, officials say
JACKSON, MI -- Flames and smoke damaged at least five buildings in Jackson Wednesday night, officials said. At about 6 p.m. Dec. 15, the Jackson Fire Department was dispatched to the 400 block of Randolph Street for a three-alarm fire, Jackson Assistant Fire Chief Tim Gonzales said. While the fire remains under investigation, officials believe it may have started from a stove fire on the first floor, Gonzales said. The fire reached the home’s gas meter, causing the further spread of the flames, Gonzales said.
