Hunters find skeletal remains less than five miles from Lake Michigan
ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI — Hunters in Allegan County have discovered human skeletal remains in an area less than five miles from Lake Michigan. The remains were located near 63rd Street and 134th Avenue in Saugatuck Township on Sunday, March 7, according to a news release from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s deputies, with assistance from the Western Michigan University School of Medicine’s Forensic Anthropology Unit, recovered the remains on Monday, March 8. The remains are yet to be identified and a cause of death has not been determined, the release states. Jessie Douglas Hill, is finally coming home to his final resting place to be with his family once and for all. Jessie Douglas Hill was listed as MIA from the Korean War during a battle with his unit. Remains of deceased Dozier School student ID'd 73 years later Seventy-three years after George Owen Smith's family were informed that their son was dead, his remains have been identified.
