George Stephanopoulos tests positive for COVID-19, hasn't had 'any of the classic symptoms'
"Good Morning America" anchor George Stephanopoulos revealed on the show Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19, two weeks after his wife Ali Wentworth revealed she was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. While Wentworth, 55, described her experience as "never been sicker," Stephanopoulos, 59, says he hasn't had "any of the classic symptoms you've been reading about." As for actual symptoms, Stephanopoulos noted some lower back pain and one day where he had a diminished sense of smell but "that has really been it," he shared. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control notes that the most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough and shortness of breath and that symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. Stephanopoulos has been caring for his wife and broadcasting from home after Wentworth developed symptoms in early April.
