Red-shirted teachers and staff in Seattle Public Schools took to the picket lines instead of the classroom on what was supposed to be the first day of school Wednesday.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged in an assault case at Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte.

A16-year-old student stabbed an 18-year-old student in the back at Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte on Thursday, according to police.

Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte is on lockdown after a student injured a classmate in an altercation and fled the building, officials said.

Kaylee is a senior at Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte. She founded the People’s Project to help battle youth mental illness. “The People’s Project is very near and dear to her heart," said Kaylee’s dad, Jerry Barton. "One of her best friends committed suicide several years ago and it deeply affected her, and still does.
