Officials arrested suspects of a stolen Dodge Charger after getting into a vehicle pursuit Saturday night.

CLEMENS, MI – A Michigan man was sentenced this week to 20 to 40 years in prison related to the fatal hit-and-run of 5-year-old Preston Singleton during June 2021 in Warren, authorities said. On Thursday, Nov. 10, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Diane Druzinski sentenced Maurice Sumler, 22, of Detroit, according to a news release from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. In September, a jury found Sumler guilty of second-degree murder, leaving the scene of an at-fault fatal accident and reckless driving causing death. He admitted to hitting a child and fleeing because he was late for work at the Chrysler plant in Sterling Heights. The Metro Detroit community has come together to help a nonprofit and the students it benefits after a truck containing a dozen bikes was stolen from them.

A family from Virginia that traveled to Detroit for Autorama is seeking the public’s help to find their truck and trailer, which were stolen from outside their downtown hotel.

A Metro Detroit woman was scammed out of $30,000 in the same week she lost her husband. Shortly after her husband died, she received an email from what she thought was Best Buys Geek Squad. The person on the other end said hed refund her $300 and asked if her computer was running slow. I just thought, OK,, hes gonna look at my computer, Ihlenfeldt said.
