2 critically injured in attempted robbery in Detroit, victim lured by dating app
DETROIT โ Police are investigating a double-shooting Saturday night on Detroitโs west side. It happened at about 9:30 p.m., near the intersection of Woodside Street and Northfield Street, just east of Livernois Avenue. According to authorities, a 57-year-old man met a woman on an online dating website and arranged to meet at her apartment. Police said when the man arrived, the woman was waiting with her 18-year-old boyfriend, who was armed and attempted to rob the man. The 57-year-old man was a CPL holder.

Steven Bratton, 42, is charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, Katie Elliott, 37, of Harper Woods, according to authorities. โDomestic violence awareness.โThe T-shirts are a message for anyone in a domestic violence situation. Jason Elliott said he didnโt know his sister was in potential danger with Bratton, who was a relatively new boyfriend. Officials said her body was found in the backyard of the home she rented on Woodside Street in Harper Woods.
Harper Woods man suspected of killing woman charged with homicide
HARPER WOODS, Mich. โ Steven Mark Bratton was charged Tuesday in connection with the death of a 37-year-old Harper Woods woman. According to authorities, police responded to reports of a woman fatally shot in the back yard of a home in the 19100 block of Woodside Street. Police said the body of a 37-year-old woman was found at the scene and, within an hour, Bratton was taken into custody and a handgun believed to have been used in the crime was recovered. Police found the body at around 12:45 a.m. Sunday in the 19100 block of Woodside Street in Harper Woods. Officers went to the area after reports about a dead woman at the location were made.
