Monroe County investigating after missing man found dead
BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ Police are investigating a manโs death after the body of a missing man was found in Monroe County Saturday afternoon. According to authorities, the Monroe County Sheriffโs Office was dispatched to Bedford Township after someone had found a body in the woods. Police said the body was identified as a missing Toledo man. Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriffโs Office at 734-240-7537. Drunken driver killed in crash with utility pole in Bedford Township, police say
BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. โ A Toledo man who was driving drunk and speeding Friday died when his car left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole in Bedford Township, according to police. Officials said David C. Smith, 39, of Toledo, was driving a black 2002 GMC Envoy at 1:08 a.m. Friday on Dean Road east of Crabb Road. Smith was heading east and drove off the north side of Dean Road, striking a mailbox, police said. He got back on the road and continued east before leaving the roadway again, according to authorities. Monroe County medics and Bedford Township firefighters responded, but Smith was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police search Lincoln Park home in case of woman who mysteriously disappeared on Mothers Day
LINCOLN PARK, Mich. Police are searching a Lincoln Park home in the the case of a Metro Detroit mom who disappeared without a trace on Mothers Day. My granddaughter needs her mother, Bedfords mother, Kathy Parker, said. We need our daughter.Parker said she remembers Bedfords last call on Mothers Day. Her last known address was on Hanover Street in Lincoln Park. They are conducting a search warrant at a home in Lincoln ParkShe started hanging out with the wrong people in the wrong places, Parker said.
Crews catch 'alligator-type reptile' seen swimming in Bedford High School pond
TEMPERANCE, Mich. - The hunt continued Friday after an "alligator-type reptile" was seen swimming in the biology pond on the campus of Bedford junior and senior high schools.
