Fiat Chrysler contributes $400K to Detroit neighborhood fund
DETROIT โ Fiat Chrysler is contributing $400,000 to a Detroit neighborhood fund as part of a community benefits agreement tied to its new assembly plant on the cityโs east side, the automaker said Monday. Another $400,000 will be contributed in 2021, according to Fiat Chrysler. The community benefits agreement calls for Fiat Chrysler to invest in the surrounding neighborhoods, jobs training and education. Fiat Chrysler also said Monday that it is contributing $285,000 to the Chandler Park Conservancy to help the nonprofit start construction on a community-based environmental education plaza. The automakerโs commitment to Detroit goes beyond its facilities, said Ron Stallworth, a Fiat Chrysler external affairs manager.
Detroit police looking for 2 men wanted in connection to shooting, barricaded gunman situation
Police are searching for two men wanted in connection to a shooting and a barricaded gunman situation. According to authorities, it happened Sunday morning in a home on Coplin Street, near Chandler Park Drive. Police said a 40-year-old man was shot multiple times and was left in temporary serious condition after an argument. The two men were believed to be hiding inside a home, but police found the residence empty.
