Work on the 3-mile stretch was expected to take at least 4 weeks after it was announced at the end of March. It was expected to be finished in June, and finished on schedule.
The southbound lanes of M-5 reopened May 15 as crews began work on the northbound lanes. During the northbound M-5 construction, the westbound M-5 ramp to northbound M-5 and the northbound I-275 ramp to northbound M-5 were closed.
