Dearborn traffic light knocked down by crash sat on the ground for nearly 2 months — here’s why
A traffic light at the Pelham and Dartmouth intersection, straddling Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, was knocked down by a car crash and remained out of commission for nearly two months due to confusion over which city was responsible for repairs. Temporary stop signs failed to keep the intersection safe, with residents expressing frustration over delays and ongoing safety concerns. Communication issues between the cities and DTE Energy contributed to the prolonged outage. The city of Dearborn has scheduled the traffic light’s reinstallation for Friday, but neighbors remain upset about the lengthy wait.
