Metro Detroit weather: 3 nice days to start workweek

Above-normal temperatures return to mix

DETROIT – It’s back to full sunshine in Metro Detroit, and when we throw above-normal temperatures back into the mix, that adds up to three nice days to start our workweek.

Monday’s blue skies will translate into clear skies at night. But those clear skies, along with the dry air and light wind, will also allow temperatures to fall back into the 40-45-degree range for most (5 to 7 degrees Celsius), with some mid- to upper 30s (3 to 4 degrees Celsius) possible once again in our coldest rural areas.

Tuesday’s sunrise is at 7:51 a.m.

This week

Mostly sunny once again Tuesday, but get ready for highs rebounding back to near 70 degrees (21 to 22 degrees Celsius)! It will become a bit breezy, with southwest winds increasing to 10 to 15 mph, but breezy is OK when it’s warm outside!

Mostly clear Tuesday night, with lows in the mid- to upper 40s (7 to 9 degrees Celsius).

Partly cloudy Wednesday and still warm, with highs in the low 70s (22 degrees Celsius). It’s possible we could be even warmer than that!

Rain showers develop Wednesday night ahead of an approaching cold front and continue into Thursday. Lows in the mid-50s (13 degrees Celsius), with breezy highs Thursday in the mid-60s (18 degrees Celsius).

Showers end either by late Thursday afternoon, or Thursday evening. It’ll be a cooler night behind that cold front, with lows dropping back into the mid-40s (7 degrees Celsius).

Partly cloudy to start Friday, then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid-50s (12 to 13 degrees Celsius), and it’ll breezy.

Weekend forecast

Saturday could also start out with partly cloudy skies, but I think we’ll become mostly cloudy, with the small chance for a shower (most of us likely won’t see one, but there’s a chance). Highs in the mid-50s (12 to 13 degrees Celsius).

Partly cloudy Sunday, with highs in the mid-50s (12 to 13 degrees Celsius).
