Fall arrives in Metro Detroit with possible rain, thunderstorms

DETROIT – Happy Fall Y’all! Today we celebrate the Autumnal Equinox which will mark the official start to fall at 2:19 p.m.

Keep your umbrella on hand this week. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible throughout the day and will remain possible through the middle of the week. Localized heavy rainfall may be possible too. If a thunderstorm develops this afternoon, isolated strong wind gusts can’t be ruled out.

Highs today will be in the mid-70s. We expect high temperatures in the 70s throughout the week which will generally be at to slightly above average.
