Groundhog Day snow tapers off as Metro Detroit stays chilly

Monday morning snow winds down in the afternoon with cooler than normal temperatures the next few days

Forecasted wind chills 7am Tuesday. (WDIV)

4Warn Weather - Groundhog Day started with light snow showers across Southeast Michigan, adding up to around a half inch or less. Snow continues to taper off this afternoon and evening, giving way to scattered flurry chances.

Most will not pick up more than an inch, but with scattered small bursts of snow into the evening localized higher amounts are possible. Visibility may be reduced and untreated roads could have slick spots for both the morning and evening commutes, so you may want to budget a little extra time for both.
