After most of the region saw some light snow last night into the overnight, we will keep the chance of snow into the forecast through the end of the weekend on Sunday.

Most of the region is waking up to a coating to as much as a half inch of snow on Sunday morning, and we will keep snowing into the forecast working throughout the rest of the day on Sunday. Light snow will give way to a snow shower Sunday afternoon and into Sunday evening, as winds will become breezy thanks to a northwesterly flow. High temperatures will head into the mid 30s by Sunday afternoon. With the snow continuing, most places could see one to 2 inches of snow by the time we get to late Sunday night.

Cloud cover sticks around through the overnight and into the start of the week on Monday. Overnight lows dropping into the mid 20s by Monday morning, and then warming into the upper 20s to lower 30s by Monday afternoon.

Our next chance of snow moves into the region by the time we get to Tuesday. Expect snow to develop Tuesday afternoon and stick around through late Tuesday night. This is thanks to a clipper system that will work in from the northwest. There is the potential for an additional round of snow accumulation by the time we get to late Tuesday night.

Then, after this area of low pressure works to the east of the region, we will keep the chance of snow showers in the forecast, looking ahead into the middle of the week on Wednesday, thanks to a northwesterly flow resuming.

We are also keeping our eyes open for yet another round of winter weather by the time we get to Thursday. An area of low pressure is forecast to develop and move into the Ohio Valley by the time we get to Thursday. The latest data has been shifting this system south, away from metro Detroit, which would make this system more wintry than wet. As of right now, we are keeping a chance of snow in the forecast, but this part of the forecast is subject to change as we work through the next few days.

Once that system moves out of the region by the end of the week, we bring some sunshine back in the forecast, looking ahead into the end of the week on Friday. Temperature is also starting to warm up by the end of the week, with high temperatures warming into the 40s by the end of the week on Friday.
