DETROIT – Monday evening brings a chance of thunderstorms around Metro Detroit.
It’s possible some storms could become strong or severe -- primary south of I-696. There’s a “marginal” risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe storms from Lansing to Grosse Ile and south to the state line.
The main window for possible severe storms is between 6 p.m. Monday to midnight.
Storms could produce damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph. Large hail up to 1 inch in diameter is also possible.

Much cooler temperatures return Tuesday and last through the end of the week (Highs in the 50s and low 60s).
There will be on-and-off rain chances the remainder of the week. The Climate Prediction Center keeps temperatures below average through mid-May.
