4Warn Weather – After a dry start for some of us on Sunday Morning, a few thunderstorms developed late Sunday morning, and a few of those became severe.
According to 4Warn Meteorologist Bryan Schuerman, a few Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued for part of Metro Detroit as this line of thunderstorms moved through.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Southeastern Washtenaw and Wayne Counties until 1:00 PM, then a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Monroe County until 1:45 PM Sunday, June 14, 2026.
Both Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were for damaging wind gusts above 60 MPH, and hail to 1″ in diameter, over parts of these warnings.
According to Exact Track 4D Radar, when the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Monroe County was issued, very large hail was potentially being detected. The official Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service for hail to 1″, or quarter size in diameter.
The National Weather Service did confirm hail in South Rockwood, Monroe County, MI around 12:45 PM on Sunday afternoon as the line of thunderstorms moved through the county.

As of 1:30 PM on Sunday, no other damage reports were relayed from the severe thunderstorms that occurred.
4Warn Meteorologist Bryan Schuerman says that rain showers will continue into mid Sunday afternoon before we start to dry things out.
