4Warn Weather – As waves of energy run along a stalled front to the south the main rain and thunderstorm activity will stay to the south of Metro Detroit. Southeast Michigan will see only a slight chance for isolated rain today and tomorrow.
The further south you are, the more cloud cover you’ll see this afternoon.
Northward we’ll see more sun mixed with the clouds, but everyone has the chance to see isolated showers and storms this afternoon and evening.
A few storms may be strong with gusty winds and large hail, so you’ll want to make sure you have the 4Warn Weather app or a weather radio - some way to get alerts to finish out the day.
Highs today will be near 85° with a lighter southwest to west breeze.
Some of our cloud cover diminishes overnight as we drop to the mid 60s. The Perseid meteor shower peaks tonight, so if you’re up late tonight or early tomorrow morning, take a look outside!
Thursday night into Friday morning will be another chance to see the meteors.
We’ll have another chance at seeing isolated rain Thursday as afternoon temperatures reach the low 80s.
We turn drier Friday into most of Saturday, seeing more sunshine. Highs Friday will be in the mid 80s before we drop to around 80 Saturday. Late Saturday into Sunday will be the next best chance for rain.
