Time to shift and get comfortable with the change

From Tati Amare – This is the first week of school for many students in our community, often signaling the unofficial start of the fall season. Even if it’s still warm(er) outside, it really feels like there has been a shift in seasons… it’s not actually fall, but summer is quickly fading away. The sun’s warmth has started to mellow – it was chilly when I left for work this morning – and the days are slowly growing shorter and shorter as the sun is setting later and later.

Of course, we know this is Michigan so there will likely be a “relapse” of the summer-like weather, but the signs of the fall season are in full swing. Football season, holiday decorations are already for sale, and I even started looking for a new winter coat. But this time of year has its own charm as we live between two blurred seasons and slowly get comfortable with inevitable change. I’m ok with rotating between sweaters and sun dresses for a while because in a few months we’ll wish we had the option. Bring on the cider, donuts, sweater weather and everything in between.
