The Ann Arbor spot where Jazz meets Afro-Caribbean dishes

A fusion of flavorful food and music debuts tonight

Music lovers can enjoy the sounds of Jazz and the taste of Afro-Caribbean flavors when a Chef and James Beard award winner launches his new menu tonight in Ann Arbor. Chef JJ Johnson, who’s based in Harlem, NY, joins the Blue Llama Jazz Club as Creative Culinary Director.

His dishes are inspired by flavors from the Caribbean, New York, and New Orleans. Chef Johnson stopped by “Live In The D” to give a preview of what diners will experience.

“When you think of Jazz, it comes from the American South, Caribbean, it comes from West Africa, and that’s the food I want to showcase,” Johnson said. This new menu debuts tonight at Blue Llama Jazz Club which is open Wednesdays through Sundays.
