Happy Friday! You made it. We made it. The long awaited weekend has arrived. And the good news is -- the weather is going to be amazing. We're talking all-day pool weather, folks! Enjoy it while it lasts.

Traffic: Part of I-94, I-696 closing tonight, through weekend 🚧

🚧 I-94: Road and bridge work will require closing eastbound I-94 from US-12 (Michigan Avenue) to I-75 starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2. All lanes of the freeway are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5. So, prepare for that if you have Detroit plans. Find a detour here.

🚧 I-696: Eastbound I-696 from I-75 to I-94 will be closed from Friday at 8 p.m. thru Monday at 5 a.m. All ramps will be closed except local access to Mound Road.

Early look at Pistons new practice facility 🏀

We're getting our first look at the new Detroit Pistons practice facility under construction in New Center. It will open up in October. It's just a few minutes down the road from Little Caesars Arena.

Detroit Lions Family Fest at Ford Field

Less than a week before the Lions open preseason, fans can get an inside look at how the team is looking this year. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., with all types of fun games, family friendly activities, pictures with Lions players and a Detroit Lions scrimmage, which starts at 6 p.m.
