Crews work to remove cows from rolled livestock trailer on interstate in Detroit

Officials say some animals will be euthanized due to injuries

DETROIT – Hours after a livestock hauler tipped over Monday on the westbound I-94 ramp to southbound I-75 in Detroit, dozens of cows inside were still being removed.

However, officials said some of the animals will have to be euthanized due to their injuries.

The incident happened at about 3 p.m. Monday westbound I-94 ramp to southbound I-75. Cleanup remained underway Monday night.

An empty trailer arrived on the scene to take the cows.

The condition of the driver is unknown, although no serious injuries have been reported.
