Dozens rally to save Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak Group asking city to preserve theater’s history
ROYAL OAK, Mich. – From midnight movies to art house features, the Landmark’s Main Art Theatre has always been a destination for movie lovers.
It originally opened in downtown Royal Oak three months before the attack on Pearl Harbor. For now, it’s closed with no plans to reopen, but there is a group of people trying to save the iconic theater.
The group stood outside of the the building, fighting to save it and is asking the city and landlord to preserve its history.
