ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – A 23-year-old Rochester Hills woman was killed overnight in a suspected drunken driving crash, officials said.

The crash happened around 12:25 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 20) on Adams Road, south of Tienken Road, in Rochester Hills.

Police said the woman was driving a 2020 Jeep Renegade north on Adams Road when the Jeep left the road and struck an embankment.

The Jeep went up into the air and landed on its side, according to authorities.

Emergency officials took the woman to a nearby hospital for treatment, but she died shortly after 8 a.m.

She was alone in the Jeep and wearing a seatbelt. It’s believed that alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies continue to investigate.
