2 hurt when cars crash, catch fire on Michigan Avenue in Canton Township

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two people were injured Saturday in a two-car crash on Michigan Avenue in Canton Township.

The crash happened at 2:12 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, in the westbound lanes of Michigan Avenue, east of Lilley Road, in Canton Township.

Canton Township police said both cars caught fire after the collision. Both cars had severe front-end damage from the crash.

Two women, ages 31 and 29, were rescued by the Canton Fire Department and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The Canton Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team was called to investigate the crash. The investigation continues.
