A man was drinking from a hose in Macomb County. That led to a high-speed chase on I-94, golf course
What started as a call about a man drinking from someone’s hose in Macomb County ended with police chasing a driver through neighborhoods, a golf course, and the wrong direction of I-94.
Thomas Edward Tackett, 52, from Port Huron, was arrested and is facing 13 charges.
The chase started on Oct. 6 in Harrison Township and continued across Macomb County.
Semi-truck fails to stop, causing chain-reaction crash on I-96
On Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a multi-vehicle crash on westbound I-96, just west of Pinckney Road in Howell Township.
A 58-year-old Wisconsin man driving a semi failed to stop for traffic, police said.
He rear-ended a Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 22-year-old woman from Hemlock, then crashed into a Ford Explorer driven by a 58-year-old man from Lansing.

President Donald Trump was passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday despite jockeying from his fellow Republicans, various world leaders and — most vocally — himself.
Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado was awarded the prize. The Norwegian Nobel Committee said it was honoring her “for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.”

A frost advisory remains in effect until 9:00 AM Friday morning for all of southeastern Michigan except for Monroe and Wayne counties. These areas in the advisory stand the best chance to start off a load of mid-30s this morning, while the mid to upper 30s are expected in Monroe and Wayne counties.
