Deveon Latrell Cole, 22, of Pontiac, is accused of stabbing his father’s girlfriend, Monique Sherrie Taylor, 57, of Pontiac.

The father said he was in the living room when he heard a commotion and went to investigate. That’s when Cole told him that Taylor was dead, officials said.

Cole’s father called 911, and police went to the home. They found Taylor lying on a bedroom floor, bleeding heavily from injuries to her torso, arms, and hands.

Taylor was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead, officials said.

Oakland County deputies said they found Cole in the kitchen, with a bloody kitchen knife nearby.

He was taken into custody without further incident.

Police said Taylor, Cole, and the father all lived at the home on Roselawn Street.

Cole was arraigned Monday, April 20, 2026, on a first-degree murder charge.

He’s being held without bond at the Oakland County Jail.

A probable cause conference is scheduled for April 30, and a preliminary examination is scheduled for May 7. Both will be at 50th District Court in Pontiac.
