The vandalism comes days after two 19-year-olds were arrested in Sterling Heights for spray-painting antisemitic messages in the area.
Rabbi Robert Gamer said the vandalism has prompted the congregation to consider additional security measures, including more cameras.
Gorevitz was arrested on April 23 near the intersection of 12 Mile Road and Coolidge Highway.
He was arraigned on April 24, and his bond was set at $50,000. A judge ordered a competency hearing.
Gorevitz‘s charge, hate crime - malicious destruction of personal property, is punishable by up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
