BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man from Mount Pleasant has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a teen after allegedly firebombing a Brighton Township neighborhood and stalking a child.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a home on Burson Drive in Brighton Township on Nov. 28 after reports of multiple Molotov cocktails being thrown at the home and several other fires set in the neighborhood.

Alert neighbors quickly extinguished the fires, minimizing damage.
Authorities said they found evidence of incendiary devices on the road and fire damage to the property.
Alex Buley-Neumar was quickly identified as a suspect. Authorities believed the attack was connected to a stalking and harassment case involving a child.
He was taken into custody and charged with manufacturer / possess Molotov cocktail causing damage, using a computer to commit a crime, aggravated stalking of a minor and accosting a child for immoral purposes.
He was later charged with preparation to burn a dwelling, aggravated child sexually abusive activity, 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct involving a person 13 to 15, and possession of child sexually abusive material.
On Friday, May 1, Buley-Neumar pleaded guilty as charged to all eight counts. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 28.
