Wayne County man accused of sending sexually explicit messages to minor pleads no contest

A Wayne County man who was charged with allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to a minor pleaded no contest.

Christian Jon Leo, 24, was charged with accosting a minor for immoral purposes and using computers to commit a crime. He was also charged as a second habitual offender.

The investigation began after police received a report on Nov. 1, 2025, about a 23-year-old working at the Holiday Inn Express off Woodward Avenue in Birmingham actively sending sexually explicit messages to a minor.

After further investigation, Leo was arrested on Dec. 11.

On May 7, Leo pleaded no contest to accosting a minor for immoral purposes and using computers to commit a crime.

According to the Michigan Department of Corrections, Leo was convicted in 2022 of an attempted sexual assault charge. He was on probation until September 2027. He is also a registered sex offender.

Leo is scheduled to be sentenced on June 18 at 8:30 a.m.
