ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – An Oakland County woman has been sentenced to probation after reportedly stealing purses from two shoppers at different stores in Rochester Hills.
Lynsie Marion Leinenger, of Auburn Hills, was charged in December with unarmed robbery and larceny from a person. She later pleaded no contest to both charges.
On Monday, May 18, Leinenger was sentenced to 11 months of probation.
The purses were taken within 30 minutes of each other. The first was stolen from a shopping cart at a Kroger store in Rochester Hills.
The purse belonged to a 64-year-old woman and contained a phone, wallet, necklace and prescription medication.
Roughly a half hour later, authorities were dispatched to a nearby Meijer store, where they found Leinenger. She reportedly grabbed a purse from a shopping cart and ran to the back of the store.

Police said the 71-year-old victim chased Leinenger and knocked her down with the shopping cart before fighting over the purse.
Leinenger got hold of the purse and ran toward the front of the store before falling and injuring herself.
She was taken into custody at the scene and the purse was returned to the victim.
