Weather: Memorial Day forecast: Patchy morning fog, summer-like warmth settles into Metro Detroit
Metro Detroit may encounter a few areas of patchy fog early on this Memorial Day as low clouds and abundant moisture linger across the region. Dense Fog Advisories have been issued just west of Southeast Michigan, and while widespread dense fog is not expected locally, folks should remain alert for reduced visibility in isolated spots early today.
The clouds and fog will gradually dissipate through the morning, paving the way for mostly sunny skies by this afternoon. Once the sunshine returns, temperatures will respond quickly, ushering in the warmest stretch of weather so far this weekend. In fact, conditions look beautiful for local parades and ceremonies. The UV index will be very high this afternoon, so make sure you apply sunscreen.
