11-year-old girl missing after evening boat ride in Lake Erie, man found dead
Crews are searching for an 11-year-old girl who went missing in Lake Erie. Authorities said the investigation began after a body was pulled from Lake Erie near Mienke’s Marina in Ohio on Thursday, July 2.
After a few hours, police learned an 11-year-old girl was on a boat with the deceased man, as well as her babysitter. Police in Ohio said the three went out on a boat in Lake Erie on Wednesday night, and the man’s death appeared to be a “horrific accident.
The babysitter managed to swim ashore and speak with police about the incident. Crews are continuing the search for the child.

Grind Time Wrestling Academy officially opened Thursday (July 2) at the Brewster Wheeler Recreation Center in Detroit’s Brush Park neighborhood, offering aspiring wrestlers a structured training program designed to take the sport seriously.
The launch event included an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a free live wrestling showcase featuring the academy’s first class of trainees.

The National Weather Service has extended the Extreme Heat Warning for most of the region, except Sanilac County, which is under a Heat Advisory through 8:00 PM Friday Evening. While majority of the day on Friday is dry, high temperature temperatures will sore back into the 90s again, and once you factor in the humidity, we are expecting heat index values to go above 100° for most of the region.
